New NOOK Tablet Ships Early
Barnes & Noble has released their new NOOK Tablet a day early due to the high pre-order demand for the product. The tablet is the newest device in the Barnes & Noble family for delivering multi media content in a high quality format. This tablet combines the full color e-reader system that helped the previous versions of the NOOK with new capabilities and features that makes it one of the best tablets currently available. The device ships with Pandora, Netflix services and Hulu Plus applications all pre-installed. Units that were reserved or pre-ordered will be shipping this week, while retail environments will stock the device shortly as well.
Barnes & Noble is continuing to offer its other NOOK products, including the NOOK Color and the NOOK Simple Touch, at lower prices in all retail stores and online. The tablet will be available in other stores such as Best Buy and Staples over the next week as secondary supplies begin shipping for the Black Friday events. Many other retailers will offer the tablet over the shopping season, including Target, Office Max and H.H. Gregg.
The NOOK tablet is a full-fledged mobile entertainment system with a 7 inch VividView touchscreen. Read magazines and books, watch movies or TV shows and play with thousands of interactive apps on one small device. The unit is wireless and doesn’t require cell phone service coverage like some other smart phones and similar devices do. Barnes & Noble is charging $249 for the tablet as of its release, but upcoming Black Friday deals from other retailers may lower its price as the holiday season draws closer to the end. The device is being sold through in-store NOOK Digital Shops, manned with trained employees who will demonstrate and explain every feature of the device to interested shoppers.
