New Kindle Family Has A Device For Everyone
The Kindle may already be the world’s bestselling e-reader, but now Amazon is expanding their device to include a family of powerful e-readers. The family will include three new versions of the classic Kindle e-reader and the new Kindle Fire. The Fire will be a multi-media device that makes viewing TV or movies, playing games or listening to music just as easy as the original Kindle made reading e-books. The family of Kindle products will also feature lower prices to make it easier for everyone to afford their own device.
The new basic Kindle will be available for $79, and the Kindle Touch for only $99. The 3G version of the Touch includes a lifetime of free 3G service, and costs just $50 more than the basic Kindle Touch. The Fire will cost $199, but this is still far less than many other multi-purpose tablet devices with the same capabilities. All four devices connect seamlessly with the Amazon Store and come with free data and file storage in Amazon Cloud. The Fire uses the revolutionary Whispersync web browser that pulls on the strength of cloud hosting to accelerate page loading. It also features a dual-core processor, making it powerful enough to play modern games at full speed.
The basic Kindle re-design is also receiving praise for becoming smaller and faster. Now fitting in a pocket, the Kindle has the same 6 inch screen with e-ink technology for reading in full sunlight. The Kindle Touch replaces the navigational buttons with a touchscreen, making turning pages even faster. A larger storage capacity and a longer battery life also makes it worth the slightly higher price over the basic Kindle. It also offers the X-Ray service. This allows for in-depth searching in books for specific mentions of characters, topics, or other information.
