MTV Announces Longoria to Host 2010 EMA's

On Wednesday, MTV announced that superstar Eva Longoria would host the 2010 MTV EMAs.  The announcement coincided with MTV’s announcement that Kings of Leon, Ke$ha, and Kid Rock would join the lineup as performers for the event.  It had been previously announced that Katy Perry and Linkin Park would also perform.

Longoria, best known for her role as Gabrielle Solis on the hit show Desperate Housewives, said that she is “excited to host the 2010 EMAs in the beautiful and sexy city of Madrid!”  The Hollywood superstar also stated that she was anticipating seeing the performers and was proud that two of the most nominated artists of the year were women, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.  Longoria will bring a bit of Hollywood luster to the music event.  Longoria follows in the footsteps of previous hosts such as Justin Timberlake, Robbie Williams, Christina Aguilera, and Katy Perry.

The always controversial Ke$ha made sure to warn Madrid of her impending arrival, telling the city to “watch out.  I’m coming to party and I promise it will be messy.”

MTV’s global celebration of music and entertainment stars will be held at Caja Magica in Madrid, Spain on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 21:00 CET.  A two hour show will feature the event in the United States on MTV2 November 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, while a one-hour special will highlight performances from the event on MTV at 9p.m. ET/PT on Friday, November 12.
