Cameron Diaz Most Dangerous Cyber Celebrity

McAfee’s Most Dangerous Celebrities study has found Cameron Diaz to be the most dangerous celebrity to search for online.  The study, in its fourth year, researches the most searched for celebrities, and determines which celebs are the most risky search terms.  It was found that a search for Diaz had a 10% chance of taking you to a site where you could be infected by a virus, malware, or other harmful files.

Diaz replaced last year’s leader Jessica Beal, who fell to the third most dangerous celebrity to search for.  The study found that searching for videos, images, or even the latest news for a trio of Victoria’s Secret models could be harmful to your computer security.  Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima, and Heidi Klum were all listed in the top ten most dangerous celebrity searches.

Officials at McAfee urge users to surf the web smartly.  They say that web surfers should use their common sense when downloading and opening video and image files.  Additionally, they recommend that users keep their virus and malware detection software up to date at all times.  Cybercriminals are becoming more aggressive in how they trick users into clicking on their links so they can force software onto a user’s computer.  This forced software can cause huge problems, including everything from hijacking your computer, to stealing your personal information.  McAfee says that by taking advantage of the many security programs available to consumers, you can surf with some piece of mind, and not be concerned with someone halfway around the world gaining access to your sensitive information.
