Apple Announces China Release Date for iPhone 4

Apple announced that the iPhone 4 will go on sale in China on Saturday, September 25 at 8:00 a.m. at Apple Retail Stores throughout the country.  Apple noted that the new Apple Store Hong Kong Plaza in Shanghai would be one of the most popular stores to purchase the newly released phone.  Apple is also slated to open the new Apple Store Xidan Joy City in Beijing the same day as the iPhone 4 release.

The popular smartphone features Apple’s acclaimed FaceTime, which allows users the ability to hold video calling with their cellphone.  The phone also features Apple’s new Retina display, which the company boasts as the highest resolution display ever found on a phone, a 5-megapixel camera with an LED flash, Hi-Def video recording, the A4 processor, and most importantly, up to 40% more talk time.

The iPhone 4 sold out in other markets shortly after the initial release of the phone.  Apple anticipates that the phones will likely sell out in the China market as well.

As part of the Apple iPhone 4 release, those buying their phone at an Apple Retail Store will receive a free setup service to help them customize their new iPhone for use.  The setup includes assistance setting up email service, the loading of their favorite iPhone apps, and other tips to have new iPhone users up and running in no time.  Some stores will also be holding workshops throughout the day to help customers learn more about the power of the Apple iPhone 4.

The iPhone 4 is expected to retail for CNY4,999 for the 16GB phone, and CNY5,999 for the 32 GB model when purchased without signing a contract.
