The largest and haunted attraction in America, Terror Behind the Walls, is launching a new tour for the 2010 Halloween season. Locating inside the Eastern State Penitentiary, this haunted house has been ranked number 1 by AOL and other reviewers. After 19 years of fall tours, the company will featuring new thrills and scares this year. Tours will run between Sept. 17 and Nov. 6.

Terror Behind the Walls offers more than just a historical stroll through the haunted prison. Featuring the best quality sets available, unique props, digital sound effects, and animatronics, the company is expanding it’s costume and makeup department as well this year. Five different haunted locations are visited during the tours, including the Infirmary, Night Watch, Intake, Lock Down, and the 3-D Experiment area.

The new “After Dark VIP Tour” that launches this season starts with a one hour, flashlight walking tour of the penitentiary. Visitors will see the cellblocks, the underground isolation cells, Death Row, and Al Capone’s cell. After the tour VIP guests will take their place at the front of the lines for the Terror Behind the Walls experience. The VIP experience costs an additional $99 per person, and each visitor will receive a souvenir photo and a special flashlight to commemorate the tour.

Set inside the prison that was once the most expensive and famous penitentiary in the world, the crumbling and empty cellblocks and guard towers make for a very creepy experience. The huge Gothic structure is frightening by day, but the tours are held at night for the maximum spooky haunted experience. Combined with the 200 person cast and high quality sets and props, the Terror Behind the Walls tour is one of the best Halloween haunted houses in the US.
