Amazon Driving Online Holiday Sales with Black Friday, Cyber Monday Deals

Brick-and-mortar outlets are discovering that a growing segment of U.S. consumers are more than happy to sit back and bargain shop at home in their pajamas while others brave the traditional holiday crowds.

Shoppers are increasingly turning to online channels in search of the hottest deals and bargains of the holiday season.  While many spend days, if not weeks, planning their offline shopping safaris, many more are just as happy filling their shopping lists in a matter of clicks by searching online news items and social media sites.

For years, Amazon.com has strived to become the top shopping destination for holiday bargain hunters, and it appears that they’ve done so this year.  In fact, a recent report released by comScore, a leading digital analytics company, reports that visitors to Amazon sites increased a whopping twenty-five percent on Black Friday compared to last year. 

Amazon, never shy about asking consumers to open their wallets, have gone all out this year offering deep discounts on computers, cameras, toys and more with week long Black Friday events, as well as its Cyber Week Deals offerings.  Even though shoppers have launched a massive assault on the online giant, Amazon doesn’t plan on backing down, and will continue running Top Holiday Deals from November 30th through December 23rd.
